Thus, the screen cover is 160% better protected against drops than the typical double-tempered glass used on other phones. It is also less prone to scraping keys or coins in your pocket, so your screen will always remain clear and scratch-free.
The A5 Pro 5G's protection is not just on the outside. Inside, the motherboard is shielded by a cover made of AM04 aluminium alloy, a material that is both strong and conducts heat well. The new alloy is 10% stronger than that of the OPPO A3 Pro and has been tested to withstand more than 1,000 times of repeated bending, keeping the phone's key components safely protected.

OPPO has led the way in making phones waterproof, with IP69, IP68 and IP66 ratings for a range of smartphones, without compromising on their style and slim form. Since the IP69 rating was introduced for OPPO smartphones last year, it has been a hit with users worldwide and now it is also available for the A5 Pro 5G.
While IP68 is widely considered good enough for smartphones, we wanted to raise the bar for all our phones to ensure they can handle the demands of real life. Devices with IP68 can survive immersion in water up to 1.5 metres deep for 30 minutes, but there are still many scenarios where water resistance needs to go further. That is why the OPPO A5 Pro 5G is equipped with all-round IP66, IP68 and IP69 water resistance.
To earn the IP66 and IP69 ratings, the OPPO A5 Pro 5G had to pass a series of tests designed to measure its level of protection against sprays and intense jets of high temperature and high pressure water. In the IP66 test, the phone is bombarded with powerful water jets from all directions at a rate of 100 l/min through a 12.5 mm nozzle for 3 minutes at a distance of 2.5 to 3 metres. IP69 goes one step further, with water jets of 80℃ under high pressure on a rotating table at a rate of 15l/min hitting the phone at different angles during a gruelling 2-minute test.
These intensive tests ensure that the OPPO A5 Pro 5G can handle everything from a downpour to an unfortunate dip, whether you find yourself in a storm or splashing around in the kitchen or bathtub.
The IP69 rating also means that the OPPO A5 Pro 5G is maximum dustproof. The phone's casing is pot tight, so it stays as clean inside as it is on the outside. Where the frame is attached to the screen and back panel, an all-plastic material has been used that is water-resistant, as well as resistant to physical damage and extreme weather. The A5 Pro 5G also has a distinctive design that extends and relocates the length of the secondary microphone's tube to prevent water ingress, boosting the phone's water resistance.
